Levick recently premiered THE AFTERWORLD for speaking percussionist (Nick Terry), at the Wende Museum in Culver City. After MAYBE THE STORY OF ‘I‘ for pianist Mark Robson and THE MESSIAH for cellist Cecilia Tsan, THE AFTERWORLD is the third in a series of pieces for speaking soloists. Levick has written both the music and the texts for this series.
Levick’s commission for Brightwork newmusic, FROM THE RUINS, was performed as part of HEAR NOW 2019.
Levick’s piano solo, ANGELUS NOVUS, will be premiered by Nic Gerpe in Pasadena at the Norton Simon Museum in September, 2019.
He is currently at work on a commission from the French Ministry of Culture, SHARDS, a piece for soprano and 10 piece ensemble, which will be premiered in Paris in March, 2020 by the ensemble, TM+. He will present a new, commissioned work, INCLUSION, for pianist, Neal Stulberg. and the UCLA Philharmonia at HEAR NOW 2020.
Levick is also at work on a solo violin piece entitled, WRECHO.
Recorded by TM+ and the Diotima Quartet, FROM THE RUINS, SHARDS, SAXOPHONE for String Quartet, and SHREDDED, his latest string quartet, will be on Levick’s 2020 CD for Signature records.
